Today we learned from Carolin’s friend on the ground in Kibbutz Nir Oz in Israel that she and her friend Danny were killed in a terrorist attack yesterday. We are broken and are working to cope with this unimaginable tragedy.

Kurz vor ihrem Tod schickte Carolin ihrer Mutter, die in Bremen lebt, noch eine Nachricht. Darin schrieb sie, dass sie und Danny in einen Bunker fliehen müssen und sie deshalb ihren Rückflug verpassen.
Sie dankte ihrer Mutter für alles und schrieb, dass sie sie liebe. Am Sonntag erhielt die Mutter die Nachricht, dass ihr Kind tot ist. — traurig.
