Eva Yijia Liu, a beloved daughter, sister, and friend, passed away in a tragic incident on June 14th, 2023, at the young age of 21. She was born on October 30th, 2001 in Guangzhou, China to her parents Lan Liu and Ping He. She is survived by her parents and twin sister, Alice Liu.
Eva grew up in Waterloo, Canada, before moving to Naperville in 2013. She attended Madison Junior High School (’15), Naperville Central High School, the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (’19), and obtained her Bachelors and Masters in Computer Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (’23). She was looking forward to beginning her professional career as a software engineer at Microsoft this summer.
Eva was a bright and inquisitive student with many passions, including baking, traveling, and music. She was intimately involved in the community and dedicated her time to helping those around her. From helping nurture an open and warm residential wing at IMSA to guiding underclassmen at UIUC, Eva’s infectious smile, sweet treats, and unwavering love and support for family, friends, and all who knew her will be dearly missed.
Visitation for Eva will be held on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Homes & Crematory, 516 S. Washington Street, Naperville, IL. A memorial and burial will be held on Saturday, July 1st, at 10:00am at Living Water Evangelical Church: 1256 Wehrli Road Naperville, IL 60565, and Naperville Cemetery, Naperville, IL.
