Only a handful of vocalists have the pipes to sing with expressiveness, subtlety and control above the clamorous frenzy of a groove, and Summer was the absolute best of them.? Her voice had effortless power. You get the sense that if she had wants to crank it up, she could blow any band right off the stage. R.I.P.
